When Cary Met Mary . . . A Close Encounter of the Fashion TV Kind
I was on BBC tv the night before last . . . (sigh).
Last year, shopping unsuspectedly, I was accosted by a BBC camera crew to take part in a fashion shop makeover show called Mary Queen of Shops. I was asked what I thought of a sad selection of bling-blighted clothes ! Having prayed an editor would cut me out, the episode (titled Rumpelstiltskin) was screened on Monday night. Thankfully, they only show three brief clips of me. The first is walking along the street feeling decidedly fraudulent and wanting to giggle as I am ‘acting’ that I am oblivious to being filmed. The second is me saying a shirt is a bit too pink for me (It struck me as very ironic and funny) and the final one revealed my loathing of how almost every clothing item is branded these days as though you belong to the company in question. I thought I was ruining the show, but Mary agreed with me – they were naff naff naff.
The video clip is available on my Facebook profile.
